 Entry 7/27/07:

I am single and live in beautiful San Diego.  I have 5 grand children and I love spending time with them.  I have been in the Mortgage business for the last 17 years.  The memories are too many to list.  But on top would be the Farmer's Barns and football games.  And of course Mr. Bradley was my favorite teacher.  If any of you are heading my way, please contact me.  I would love to keep in touch.  Judy, Kay and Dianne, Thank you for including me in this reunion.  You did a fabulous job.  And thank you to Darryl and Linda for encouraging me to attend.  I had a great time and it was wonderful to catch up with old friends.

Bio info:

After 36 years as a public school teacher, administrator, counselor and staff developer, I retired....for 49 days.  I am now a part time instructor at the University of Northern Colorado in the Department of Education.  My husband, Don, is also a retired educator who teaches part time at Aims Community College.  We can not seem to let go!

Don and I have 5 children and three grandchildren.  Our oldest son is a captain for US Air, so we do travel quite a bit seeing our children and grandkids (spread out from Las Vegas to Tucson to Washington D.C.) and also to the U.K.  We have a cooking school in our home and are putting together our first of The Best Of cookbook.

Volunteer work takes up a lot of time...delivering Meals on Wheels (nearly to the Wyoming border) and a hospital ministry at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins (which keeps us quite busy). We are also Rotarians and are very active with Rotary.

My folks still live in Wheat Ridge and I am down in Denver a couple of days a week helping them get to doctor appointments, etc. (most of you know the drill) which I really enjoy.  Much of Wheat Ridge has changed and much has stayed the same.

I have many fond memories of WRHS and our years there, however, my most dramatic memory is being in a class of Mr. Ellis when we were told that President Kennedy had been assassinated.  Mr. Ellis did a masterful job of keeping us all focused and things in perspective (even though I thought he was heartless at the time).  Do not each of us remember where in the hallowed halls we were that day?

I would love to join you all at the reunion, but I am previously committed to work at the Scottish/Irish Highland Festival in Estes Park that weekend.  If any of you come through Estes during the reunion weekend, please come to the Tartan Information Tent or the Clan MacLaren Tent and I will treat you to a wee dram!

Go Farmers!

Comment: "Hello Friends:

It is delightful to be an older, honorary classmate. I won two of my four Best Actress awards during the 1960s - for Guess Who Is Coming to Dinner and Lion in Winter - when you were joining the movie audiences. They say that I represented a spirited, talented, independent, yet romantic style of womanhood. With a record twelve Best Actress nominations, I was able to participate in a broad range of Hollywood films the 1930s to 1990s. It was great to see women gain more assertiveness and options over that time. Have fun at the reunion!"
