Hi to the class of '66.  First let me say I think we were all very fortunate to go to WRHS.  It is hard to imagine a better high school.  We had it all. . .great teachers, great teams, best friends, and a lot of fun.

Along with Ron Gist and Tom Baker and 3 or 4 other seniors, I went to Colorado School of Mines.  Tom and I were on the wrestling team, but unlike Tom, who was very tough, I found myself getting beat a lot and stopped after the first year.  Ron and I finished Undergraduate and Graduate School together (MS ChE) and went to work for ExxonMobil (then Humble Oil and Refining and Enjay Chemical Company in Baytown, Texas.  I have always missed Colorado and often tell people that when I decided to become a Chemical Engineer I did not realize that Colorado did not need any.  That's how I ended up in Texas, and then met and married Jo Nell, a Texan.  We have been married 33 years and have two children, Matthew and Elizabeth.  Matt is married and gave us two beautiful grandchildren, and Beth got married yesterday.

Matt and I made a tradition going to Colorado skiing each year.  Now I try to take the whole family.  Matt and I also made a few backpacking trips, last year we did the Grand Canyon.  This year's trip to climb the Grand Teton was cancelled due to 2 eye surgeries (detached retina).  Three years ago I went from casual jogging and began running Marathons and endurance trail runs (up to 50 miles) completing 15 so far.  That has also been stopped, I hope temporarily, due to my eye problem.

I have been with ExxonMobil 35 years and plan to retire in 2008 and currently manage a WW Engineering group.  We traveled a lot and lived in Europe for 3 years.  We have talked about retiring in Colorado, but that's not so certain now with grandkids.  I am sorry we will not be able to make the reunion.

Judy passed away on May 29, 2012.  She had 2 children

and 10 grandchildren.  She graduated Arizona State University

in 2001.  In her later years she taught her grandchildren art

lessons.  She would share fond memories of her high school years.

I tried the University of Minnesota after graduation. It was big and slow. I ended up in Greenwich Village. The folk scene was cool. I found myself liking Leadbelly and Woody Guthrie, and a bunch of talking blues guys. Highway 61 Revisited was a good ramble of an album. Joan Baez and i played around for a while, but she was too high maintenance. It was a hoot to bring electric guitars to Newport Folk Festival in 1965. Then a motorcycle accident whacked me out for many months. I looked at Nashville Skyline with Johnny Cash. Lost some fans on that turn, but I took off again with the Band. I've just kept playing and touring. You can catch me on satellite radio now.

Have a blast at the reunion! (Last data update: 2006)

After graduation, I went to Metro State College, Graduating in 1970.  I then went to work for the Lakewood Police Department, working in various assignments.  I retired in 2000 after 30 years and one day.  My wife is still working and may retire before too long.  We have two daughters, one a senior at CU Denver, and the other a sophomore at CSU.
