Date of Death: March 04, 2022

Phoenix, Arizona - Dennis Theorine passed away on March 4, 2022, at the age of 74. He was born in Alameda, California. He grew up in the Denver, Colorado area. After graduating high school, he attended Metropolitan State College in downtown Denver for one year, and then Colorado Mountain College in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. After enlisting in the Colorado Air National Guard in June of 1969 he attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. After college he pursued a career in construction in 1972, he started work with Hensel Phelps Construction Company, based in Greeley, Colorado. His first project was at the new Kodak facility near Windsor, Colorado. After two years at that site, he transferred to the Denver area, first at the Air Force Finance Center project at Lowry Air Force Base, next was the Mountain Bell Training Center in Lakewood, Colorado. After that project he worked on the Denver Center for Performing Arts as a field engineer. During that project he transferred from the Denver area to Hensel Phelps main office in Greeley and trained to be a building estimator before transferring to a district office in Santa Clara, California in 1984 where he was promoted to Senior Estimator. He spent 39 years with the same firm before retiring in 2011. After he retired, he traveled back and forth between San Jose, California and Pheonix, Arizona where he had a second home. He kept both homes for a while but eventually decided to take up full time residency in north Pheonix. Pheonix was located closer to the activities he wanted to pursue. i.e., riding Harleys and attending local events like the Pheonix Open, Barrett-Jackson Auto Auction, baseball spring training. He considered Phoenix a hidden gem because of all the places to explore. Phoenix is centrally located which allowed him to visit friends in other states such as Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and not that far from his friends back in California. Dennis is survived by his brother Randy, niece Rachel, and nephews Sean and Robert who all live in the Denver area.
