Comment: Well I am happy to say I have finally come out of the closet.  Yes I am gay, gay ,gay and proud of it.  I was so repressed in High School, now I am free to dress in womans clothes and prance around so freely.

Go Farmers!

I retired from the banking industry 4 years ago after 36 years. I love to read sew and spend time in my garden. My husband Joe works for Tolins Mechanical his office is in Washington D.C. so he commutes weekly.  We enjoy our houseboat at Lake Powell several weeks during the summer and I fly to the east coast several times a year and Mexico. We have 2 married daughters and 2 married sons and 5 grandchildren ages 9 thru 2.

My favorite high school memory was having a great time with all my friends and graduation.

Comment:

Graduated from the University of Denver with a BSBA degree in Business Administration.  Worked at Colorado National Bank and then United Bank of Denver until 1983.  Currently married to David Bailey, retired CEO of Wells Fargo Banks  for Colorado and Wyoming.  Between us we have four grown children, Michelle, Jim, Anne and Nick and six grandchildren.  We have been married for 24 1/2 years. We are both currently retired and split our time between Denver and Tucson Arizona where we play lots of golf.

Another passion of mine is traveling. We just returned from a trip to South Africa.  However I will go to Italy at the drop of a hat if I can find someone to go with.

We were all saddened to learn of Sue's unexpected death from a brief struggle with a brain tumor on October 1, 2006 just two weeks following our reunion.  Many of us had an opportunity to visit and chat with a smiling and exuberant Sue during the Farmers  Barn.  Sue submitted a bio prior to the reunion events which we have left for you all to enjoy.  We are adding a poem that was read at her Celebration of Life along with excerpts of the obituary that were written up for our local papers.

I'd like the memory of me

To be a happy one.

I'd like to leave an after glow

Of smiles when life is done.

I'd like to leave an echo

Whispering softly down the ways,

Of happy times and laughing times

And bright and sunny days.

I'd like the tears of those who grieve,

To dry before the sun

As they think of all the memories

I leave when my life is done.

Susan Luann Bailey

Born December 26, 1948, and departed this life on October 2, 2006.  Beloved wife of David E. Bailey, mother of Nick Bailey, Michelle Bailey (Tim Root)

and Stepmother of James Bailey and Anne Auld (Jason).  She is also survived by six grandchildren and her father Vernon Storla of Mitchell SD.  Susan graduated from Wheat Ridge High School, and the University of Denver and had a career in banking.  She worked for Colorado National and United Banks.

She also worked in financial institutions in Northern Colorado as she moved around the state with her husband who was a senior executive with Wells Fargo.

Susan  was a morning person. She often rose early to take long walks through Denver's LoDo neighborhood with her terrier, Shadow. Dave and Sue lived in Denver and Tuscon and traveled extensively. Mrs. Bailey spent years trying to persuade her husband to join her on an African safari. They finally took the trip this summer.

After retiring, Susan volunteered at and supported the Children's Hospital, the Denver Art Museum and other charities.  Susan and her husband, at various times, were also involved with the Colorado State University Research Foundation, the University of Denver, and the Denver Symphony.  She was a loving mother, a doting grandmother, and a special spouse.  (Last data update: 2006)

I am married, recently, and have a lovely 12 year old stepdaughter at home and two sons, 23 and 25 years old, in Denver and Bozeman, MT.  I lived for 15 years in Durango, CO and last year moved to San Antonio, TX, to be closer to my work.  My company represents mining equipment manufacturers in Mexico, so consequently I travel to Mexico frequently, not to any resort areas.  My life is very busy and there is still much to do.

I have many memories from high school but to pick a favorite I think they have faded sufficiently they all seem good.
